Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl & fork *for mashing

Ingredients

  • 2 jumbo ripe avocados
  • ½ small lime *juiced
  • Salt to taste *see note below
  • ¼ cup red onion *finely minced
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro

Recipe notes:

General: You can totally double or triple this recipe for a big party. I've found that 2 jumbo avocados usually makes enough gucacamole for 3-4 adults, especially when there's additional food and appetizers in your spread.
Salt: I like using kosher salt and generally end up adding about ¼ teaspoon. Regular table salt also works!

Instructions

  • Cut avocados in half and remove large center pit. Scoop halves from the shell into a large bowl.
    2 jumbo ripe avocados
  • Mash avocado halves with a fork or potato masher. You can also use a molcajete if you've got one! Make your guacamole smooth or chunky.
  • Add lime, salt, red onion and cilantro. Fold everything together gently.
½ small lime, Salt to taste, ¼ cup red onion, ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • Serve and enjoy!
