Honey Whipped Goat Cheese

Creamy whipped goat cheese with honey and citrusy orange flavor is the perfect easy appetizer for any holiday gathering but it's also great as a regular weekday snack. It's made with just 5 simple ingredients and ready in 10 minutes!

Equipment

  • Electric hand or stand mixer
  • Citrus zester or microplane *You can try zesting orange peel with a cheese grater if you don't have a zester. The smaller the holes on the grater, the better.
  • Orange juicer *Optional - I simply juice my orange by hand.
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces plain goat cheese
  • 1 medium navel orange
  • 2 tablespoons honey *See note below
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream *Or Greek yogurt
  • Pinch salt

Optional toppings:

  • Chopped nuts, cinnamon or nutmeg, pomegranate seeds, extra honey drizzle.

Recipe notes: 

Honey: You can also sub maple syrup, regular refined white sugar, brown sugar or agave nectar. 

Instructions

  • Add goat cheese to a large mixing bowl.
    10 ounces plain goat cheese
  • Zest the peel of your orange and add it to the bowl along with juice from one half of the orange.
    1 medium navel orange
  • Add honey, salt, and sour cream to the bowl.
    2 tablespoons honey, 2 tablespoons sour cream, Pinch salt
  • Mix on medium speed with an electric hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and add desired toppings. I really like adding chopped pistachios, pomegranate seeds and extra honey drizzle. Enjoy!
