This fun, pretty, gourmet popcorn recipe calls for just 5 simple ingredients and takes only a few minutes to make! It's really that simple and it's even gluten free.

Also - is it just me, or does colorful food always taste better for some reason?!

    List of ingredients:

Popcorn: I love to make popcorn on the stovetop - it's the healthiest, tastiest (and cheapest) way! Another good option? Use a hot air popper. You have more control over ingredients when you make popcorn using these methods. Bagged popcorn can have preservatives and chemicals that aren't terrific for you, so avoid this method if you can.

White chocolate: I like using Nestle white chips for this recipe!

Coconut oil: a dab will make melted chocolate easier to drizzle.

Salt: I personally like stirring salt right into my melted white chocolate, but you can sprinkle it atop the drizzled popcorn if you prefer.

Rainbow sprinkles: delicious, colorful goodness. I like using rainbow jimmies sprinkles but you can use whichever type you prefer. If you use nonpareil sprinkles their color may bleed into the chocolate a bit, which could be fun if you're looking for a watercolor effect!

    How to make this recipe:

How to make party favors with confetti popcorn:

    Expert tips for this recipe:

    • Get creative! Feel free to have fun with this recipe. There are so many easy and delicious ingredient and color combinations you can try.
    • No coconut oil? Coconut oil is handy in this recipe because it will thin your melted chocolate, making it easier to drizzle atop popcorn. You can get by without it, but evenly distributing your chocolate will be more difficult. You can also use white chocolate candy melts instead of chips. When melted, they reach a nice drizzling texture (without coconut oil). I simply prefer the flavor of chips ever so slightly!

    How to store your popcorn:

Store your confetti popcorn in an airtight, food storage container at room temperature for up to a week!

    Ingredients

    • ⅓ cup popped popcorn kernels *about 8 cups after popping
    • ⅔ cup white chocolate chips *see note below
    • ¾ teaspoon coconut oil *see note below
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • 2 tablespoons rainbow sprinkles

    Recipe notes:

Chocolate/coconut oil: Coconut oil is handy in this recipe because it will thin your melted chocolate, making it easier to drizzle atop popcorn. You can get by without it, but evenly distributing your chocolate will be more difficult. You can also use white chocolate candy melts instead of chips. When melted, they reach a nice drizzling texture (without coconut oil). I simply prefer the flavor of chips ever so slightly!

    Instructions

    • Pop kernels using your preferred method (I prefer stovetop)!
    • Add salt and coconut oil to your white chocolate chips. Melt them in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in-between. You can also melt chips in double broiler if preferred. (*Tip: be careful not to overheat your chocolate! It can burn in the microwave or in a double broiler which will cause it to thicken or "seize.")
    • Spread popcorn on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and pick out any un-popped kernels. Drizzle melted chocolate evenly over the popcorn.
    • Add sprinkles to the chocolate drizzled popcorn, then wait about 15 minutes for the chocolate to fully set.
    • Break popcorn into pieces and place in a serving bowl for guests to enjoy!

    Storage:

    • Store in an airtight, food storage container at room temperature for up to a week!

We are huge stovetop popcorn fans in this household! Hubby and I have made stovetop popcorn for all of our 38 years of marriage. We always wonder how many pieces of popcorn we have eaten in that amount of time. We will definitely try your recipe!! Pinned 🙂

Made confetti popcorn for 35 hungry 4H’ers after our ice skating party. They LOVED it! And it’s so easy, they can make it themselves!
