Layer chips, browned hamburger, cheese, black olives, beans and any other toppings you desire. Bake for 5-10 minutes and there you have it! A tasty treat for the family to share, it's even gluten free!

I also highly suggest drizzling or dipping these nachos in 4 ingredient guacamole, healthy queso, homemade Baja sauce or creamy poblano sauce. They are both SOO good!

    Ingredients:

    • Corn tortilla chips
    • Ground beef (or sub shredded beef)!
    • Gluten free taco seasoning
    • Cheddar cheese
    • Black olives
    • Black beans
    • Sliced jalapenos
    • Refried beans
    • Other optional topping ideas: avocado, tomatoes, sours cream, cilantro, salsa

    How to make nachos:

Keep scrolling for the full recipe. We’ll start here with a quick rundown!

    • Preheat oven to 350°F.
    • Brown ground beef on the stovetop and drain excess fat.
    • Layer corn tortilla chips on large and cover with two thirds of your toppings & cheese.
    • Add a second, thinner layer of chips and cover with remaining toppings.
    • Finish with cheese and bake for 5-10 minutes.
    • Serve with salsa, avocado, tomato, sour cream, etc.
    • Enjoy!

    Handy tips:

    • Don't overbake: no need to bake your nachos for long! Just leave them in the oven until cheese fully melts into gooey goodness. If they bake much longer, cheese will become crispy.
    • Taco seasoning: You can buy taco-seasoning mix at the store, but if gluten is an issue for you, make sure to find a brand that is specified as gluten-free (many are not). To avoid additives and gluten, you can also make your own taco seasoning at home. It's super easy!

    • 2 tablespoons Gluten free taco seasoning *see note below
    • 8 oz. Shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1 2.25oz. can Sliced black olives *drained
    • ¼ cup Black beans *drained & rinsed
    • 2 tablespoons Sliced canned jalapenos
    • ¼ cup Refried beans

    Other optional topping ideas:

    • Avocado, tomatoes, sours cream, cilantro, salsa

    Recipe notes:

Gluten free taco seasoning: You can buy taco-seasoning mix at the store, but if gluten is an issue for you, make sure to find a brand that is specified as gluten-free (many are not). To avoid additives and gluten, you can also make your own taco seasoning at home. It's super easy!

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350°F.
    • Brown ground beef on the stovetop and drain excess fat.
    • Place a single base layer of corn tortilla chips on large baking sheet and cover with two thirds of your toppings & cheese.
    • Add a second, thinner layer of chips and cover with remaining toppings.
    • Finish with cheese and bake for 5-10 minutes. (*Tip: bake just until the cheese melts. It will quickly become crisp rather than gooey if nachos are left in the oven too long).
    • Serve with salsa, avocado, tomato, sour cream, etc.

Should you cook the ground beef before layering it on the pan with the other ingredients?
