Happy pumpkin season! My pumpkin spice sauce recipe was published over 5 years ago today and I can barely believe it. 🎃
It's great for iced pumpkin spice lattes and can be drizzled on french toast, ice cream, pancakes or cheesecake!
This year I've found a new use for it: pumpkin cold foam.

Why Homemade?
Save money: Buying pumpkin drinks from the coffee shop can really start to add up! This homemade version is cheaper and tastes SO similar.
Great taste: I mean it. This recipe is such a great dupe. You won't feel like you're missing out on that amazing pumpkin foam.
Real pumpkin: This recipe uses real pumpkin puree. Such a nice way to celebrate autumn!
What You'll Need:
- Cold brew coffee: I like the Stok Cold Brew brand and prefer unsweetened, but they do offer a sweet option if that's your jam. You can find Stok at most grocery stores, I get mine at our local Kroger.
- Half & half: Makes cold foam creamy!
- Heavy whipping cream: Makes cold foam fluffy and airy!
- Pumpkin sauce: I make my homemade pumpkin sauce with sweetened condensed milk, pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves & salt. If your spice collection is lacking you can use cinnamon only (or pumpkin pie spice). *NOTE* You can also buy pumpkin sauce if preferred. Torani Pumpkin Sauce is highly rated.
- Optional sweetener: Starbucks adds vanilla syrup to their cold brew, though I order mine without any vanilla. I feel the pumpkin foam is sweet enough! If you like extra sweetness, add vanilla or maple syrup to your cold brew.

- Drizzle pumpkin sauce into a small jar or cup.
- Add half & half and heavy whipping cream.
- Combine ingredients with a frothing wand. Blend for 30-45 seconds to get the perfect texture. If you froth too long the mixture can become a little too stiff. It'll still taste good, it just won't melt into your cold brew the way that Starbucks cold foam does.
- Fill a 16 ounce glass or mason jar with ice.
- Add cold brew until the glass is about three quarters full. You can add some maple or vanilla syrup to your cold brew if desired. Starbucks does this! I personally think the cold foam makes the drink plenty sweet.
- Pour velvety pumpkin cold foam on top and sprinkle with cinnamon. Enjoy!

Stacey's Top Tips 🎃
- Don't over froth your cold foam! To get the perfect texture you only need 30-45 seconds of froth time.
- You can add cold foam ingredients to a jar and shake if you don't have a handheld milk frother, but the texture won't be as luscious. Frothing wands are cheap, you should get one!

Save Some Time!
Make a batch of homemade pumpkin sauce ahead of time and refrigerate it in a mason jar or airtight container. This makes for easy pumpkin coffee drinks on demand. ☕🎃

Technically, yes! This cold foam recipe is made from a mixture of heavy whipping cream and half & half, sweetened with pumpkin sauce. Starbucks refers to it as pumpkin cold foam but it's really similar to their vanilla sweet cream.
You can totally add cold foam to hot coffee. However, it will melt quickly just like whipped cream would. But, it will still add sweetness and delicious fall flavor to your drink.
